🎯Indications▾

Cholera, respiratory and genital-tract infections, rickettsial disease, acne and (doxycycline) malaria prophylaxis in some settings.

💧Administration▾

Oral with plenty of water, sitting upright; avoid taking with milk, antacids or iron preparations (chelation).

⚖️Dosage▾

Doxycycline adults 100 mg twice daily on day 1 then 100 mg once daily; children ≥8 years 2–4 mg/kg/day. Cholera: 300 mg single dose.

⚠️Precautions & Warnings▾

Avoid in children under 8 years and in pregnancy/lactation (tooth discolouration, bone effects). Photosensitivity — advise sun protection; risk of oesophagitis if taken without water.
