🎯Indications▾

Severe Gram-negative infections (including those resistant to gentamicin) and, for streptomycin/spectinomycin, tuberculosis and gonorrhoea within combination regimens.

💧Administration▾

Intramuscular or intravenous infusion once daily (or divided doses); adjust by renal function and serum levels.

⚖️Dosage▾

Netilmicin 4–6 mg/kg once daily; streptomycin 15 mg/kg daily (max 1 g) in tuberculosis regimens; spectinomycin 2 g single IM dose for gonorrhoea.

⚠️Precautions & Warnings▾

Nephrotoxic and ototoxic, as with other aminoglycosides — monitor renal function and hearing, especially with prolonged use or concurrent loop diuretics. Streptomycin requires monitoring in tuberculosis programmes.
