🎯Indications▾

Treatment and prevention of vitamin C deficiency (scurvy); WHO-recommended supplementation in emergencies, and adjuvant use in iron-deficiency anaemia protocols.

💧Administration▾

Oral tablets, chewable or effervescent preparations dissolved in water; intravenous form only for severe deficiency under supervision.

⚖️Dosage▾

Adults 50–100 mg daily for prevention (higher doses 200–500 mg for deficiency); children 25–50 mg daily depending on age. Emergency supplementation per WHO protocols.

⚠️Precautions & Warnings▾

High doses may cause diarrhoea, abdominal cramps and increased urinary oxalate (caution with kidney stones). Large doses may interfere with blood glucose and stool occult-blood tests.
