🎯Indications▾

Biotin deficiency (including inherited biotinidase deficiency), hair and nail fragility associated with deficiency, and adjunctive therapy in some metabolic disorders.

💧Administration▾

Oral tablets or capsules with or after a meal; some deficiency states require high-dose supervised therapy.

⚖️Dosage▾

Nutritional deficiency adults 5–10 mg daily; children 1.5–10 mg daily depending on age. Biotinidase deficiency requires lifelong specialist dosing.

⚠️Precautions & Warnings▾

High-dose biotin can interfere with immunoassay laboratory tests (including thyroid and cardiac troponin assays) — inform the laboratory before testing. Generally well tolerated otherwise.
